Larry Bigbie

Baseball, Softball Hitting

Larry Bigbie began playing baseball at the age of 6, developing a love for the game that would eventually take him from youth baseball fields to the highest level of professional baseball.

A standout player at Ball State University, Larry put together an impressive college career and was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and a Second Team All-American during his junior season in 1999. That same year, he was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1st round of the MLB Draft, 21st overall.

Larry made his Major League Baseball debut with the Orioles on June 23, 2001, and went on to play for Baltimore from 2001 to 2005 before being traded to the Colorado Rockies during the 2005 season. He later joined the St. Louis Cardinals, where he was part of the organization during their 2006 World Series Championship season. Over his Major League career, Larry played for the Orioles, Rockies, and Cardinals, finishing with a .267 batting average, 31 home runs, 137 RBIs, and 328 hits.

After his time in Major League Baseball, Larry continued his professional career with opportunities in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves organizations, and later played internationally for the Yokohama Bay Stars in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball Central League.

Today, Larry has settled on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with his wife, Lauren, and their two daughters, Madison and Makenley. Through Bigbie Shore Performance, Larry is beginning the next chapter of his baseball journey by giving back to the game that shaped his life. His goal is to share the knowledge, experience, and lessons learned from a professional playing career with the next generation of baseball and softball players across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Larry looks forward to helping young athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential both on and off the field.


Mark Barrett

Baseball Pitching

Mark Barrett is a former collegiate and professional pitcher with a strong baseball background and years of experience competing at a high level.

Mark graduated from Bowie High School in 1989, where he was a three-year starting varsity pitcher. During his time at Bowie, he developed into a standout arm and continued building the foundation that would carry him into college baseball.

After high school, Mark went on to pitch for two years at the community college level before transferring to the University of Maryland, where he competed in the Atlantic Coast Conference during his junior and senior seasons. Pitching in the ACC gave Mark the opportunity to face some of the top collegiate talent in the country and further develop his skills on the mound.

Following his college career, Mark was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 42nd round of the 1994 MLB Draft. He went on to play two seasons of professional baseball in the Padres’ minor league system. Mark began his professional career in the Northwest League with the Spokane Indians before finishing in the California League with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

Mark now resides in Centreville, Maryland, with his wife and two children. Through his experience as a high school standout, college pitcher, and professional baseball player, Mark brings valuable knowledge of the game and a strong understanding of what it takes to compete at the next level. He enjoys sharing that experience with young athletes and helping them develop the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to grow both on and off the field.


Brenda Wingate

Softball Pitching

Brenda brings a strong softball background to BSP as both a former player and experienced coach. She began playing travel softball at the age of 8 and quickly developed a passion for the game, especially in the areas of pitching, fielding, and team competition.

Brenda graduated from Liberty High School, where she was a four-year varsity starting pitcher. During her high school career, she earned recognition for her performance on the field, including being named to the All-County Team, All-Conference Team, and receiving Player of the Week honors. In both her junior and senior seasons, Brenda recorded more than 100 strikeouts, showing her consistency, competitiveness, and ability to perform at a high level.

After high school, Brenda continued her softball career at Catonsville Community College, where she contributed as both a pitcher and third baseman. During her time at Catonsville, the team earned a spot in the NJCAA playoffs, giving Brenda the opportunity to continue competing in a strong collegiate softball environment.

For the past five years, Brenda has been coaching local softball teams while also serving as a pitching and fielding instructor. She has worked with athletes ranging from 10U and up, helping players develop proper mechanics, confidence, discipline, and a better understanding of the game. Most recently, Brenda helped coach a 14U softball team to a Softball Nation National Championship, adding to her experience in player development and competitive team success.

Brenda is excited to bring her knowledge, energy, and passion for softball to BSP. She looks forward to helping young athletes grow their skills, build confidence, and continue raising the level of girls softball throughout the area.


Cailean Leith

Baseball Pitching Instructor

Cailean Leith brings more than 35 years of baseball experience to BSP as both a player and coach. His background includes competing at a high level throughout youth baseball, high school, college, and international competition, as well as coaching athletes across multiple age groups and stages of development.

Cailean grew up playing travel baseball with the Columbia Reds in the highly competitive Baltimore Metro League, where he developed a strong foundation in pitching, competition, and team play. He went on to become a three-year starting pitcher at Howard High School, continuing to build his skills on the mound and establish himself as a dependable and competitive pitcher.

After high school, Cailean continued his baseball career at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he pitched for four years at the NCAA Division III level. His time at St. Mary’s was part of one of the most successful four-year stretches in the program’s history. During his college years, Cailean was also invited to travel to Europe as part of a tour representing Team USA, giving him the opportunity to compete internationally and experience the game at another level.

As a coach, Cailean has worked with players at the college, high school, and youth levels. He currently serves as the Head Coach for the BSP 2024 Showcase Team Green and also coaches with UQA Little League. His coaching experience gives him a strong understanding of how to connect with athletes at different ages, skill levels, and stages of development.

As a pitching instructor, Cailean’s focus is on teaching proper mechanics, strong fundamentals, and repeatable movements that help players build a solid foundation for success on the field. He also places a strong emphasis on arm health, longevity, and smart throwing habits, helping pitchers develop in a way that supports both performance and long-term growth.

In addition to mechanics, Cailean teaches the mental side of pitching, including basic pitching strategy, mound presence, approach, and baseball IQ. His goal is to help pitchers become more confident, more consistent, and better prepared to compete each time they take the mound.

Bre athey

Softball Instructor

Bre brings an impressive playing résumé, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for helping young athletes develop their game. After an outstanding career at Queen Anne’s County High School—highlighted by a Maryland 2A State Championship—she continued her softball career at Seton Hill University, where she made a significant impact both offensively and defensively.

During her senior season at Seton Hill, Bre started all 46 games and posted a .372 batting average with 39 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples, four home runs, and 38 RBIs. She also stole 12 bases and recorded an impressive .968 fielding percentage.

At Queen Anne’s, Bre was a four-year starter, an All-Bayside Conference First Team selection, and the team’s Rookie of the Year as a freshman. She helped lead the Lions to a Maryland 2A State Runner-Up finish in 2019 and a State Championship in 2021. Bre also competed at a high level in club softball and was selected as a USA Elite Select All-American for the Northeast Team.

A talented multi-sport athlete, Bre was also a four-year varsity soccer starter and team captain. Her soccer accomplishments include Player of the Year honors, three Maryland Regional Championships, and All-Bayside First Team and Honorable Mention selections. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Bre’s collegiate experience, competitive background, and ability to connect with young athletes make her an outstanding addition to the Bigbie’s Shore Performance instruction team.

Bre is currently available for hitting lessons on Wednesday evenings.


Leah Bradley

Softball Pitching Instructor

Leah Bradley brings a strong softball background to BSP, with experience competing at the recreational, travel, high school, and collegiate levels. Her softball journey began at the age of 5 with the Queen Anne’s County Recreation League, where she first developed her love for the game.

At the age of 8, Leah moved into travel softball with the Shore Attitude organization, allowing her to continue developing her skills in a more competitive environment. She later finished her travel ball career with 18U Rock Gold out of New Jersey, where she had the opportunity to travel across the country and compete against high-level softball programs from all over the United States. Those experiences helped shape her as both a player and a competitor.

Leah attended Queen Anne’s County High School, where she was a four-year varsity starter. During her high school career, she helped make program history in 2018 as part of the team that became sectional champions and advanced to a regional appearance. Her time at Queen Anne’s helped establish her as a dedicated and dependable player who understood the importance of hard work, teamwork, and leadership.

After high school, Leah continued her playing career at the NCAA Division II level with Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey. During her freshman year, the GCU Lions were ranked 17th in the nation among Division II softball programs, giving Leah the opportunity to be part of a highly competitive college program.

Leah’s love for softball has brought her back home to Queen Anne’s County, where she is excited to share her experience with the next generation of players. As a pitching instructor, Leah hopes to help aspiring pitchers of all ages build confidence, improve their mechanics, and develop a strong understanding of the position.

Leah looks forward to working with young athletes at BSP and helping grow the game of softball throughout the local area.


Lee Collison

Baseball & Softball Catching and Fielding Instructor

Lee Collison brings more than 35 years of experience in baseball and softball as a player, coach, instructor, and mentor. A graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School, Lee has spent much of his life around the game, developing a deep understanding of the fundamentals, strategy, and details that help athletes succeed.

After high school, Lee served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that helped strengthen the discipline, leadership, and commitment he now brings to coaching. Those same values carry into his work with players, where he emphasizes preparation, accountability, toughness, and attention to detail.

Lee is currently an Assistant Coach with the Chesapeake College Skipjacks, where he works with collegiate-level athletes and continues to help players develop at a high level. Over the past 10-plus years, he has served as either a head coach or assistant coach at the travel, showcase, high school, and collegiate levels.

Lee’s passion is catching. He enjoys breaking down the position, studying the small details, and teaching players how to improve both physically and mentally behind the plate. His instruction focuses on proper receiving, blocking, throwing mechanics, footwork, communication, field awareness, and leadership. He also works with players on fielding fundamentals, helping athletes develop confidence, consistency, and a better understanding of the game.

In addition to team coaching, Lee serves as a specialist coach for recreational, travel, and showcase organizations. He also provides individualized instruction for players looking to improve their catching and fielding skills.

Lee’s goal is to pass along proper knowledge, strong fundamentals, and a deeper understanding of the game to the next generation of baseball and softball players. He looks forward to helping athletes at BSP grow their skills, compete with confidence, and become smarter, tougher, and more complete players.


will Collison

Catching Instructor

BSP is excited to welcome Will Collison to our instructor team. Will is a former Black Sox player and Queen Anne’s County High School standout who continued his playing career at Chesapeake College and is currently a member of the Penn State Brandywine baseball program.

With 77 career collegiate games played, Will brings valuable experience, leadership, and knowledge to the BSP facility. He also serves as a team captain at Penn State Brandywine, demonstrating his commitment to the game, his teammates, and the development of younger players.

Will will be offering catching lessons focused on fundamentals, receiving, blocking, throwing, footwork, game awareness, and helping catchers build confidence behind the plate.

Will is available for catching lessons on Wednesdays and Fridays. Wednesday lessons can be booked online.

Cameron Whiteford

Softball Pitching Instructor

Cameron Whiteford returns to Bigbie’s Shore Performance as a softball pitching instructor after a standout high school and collegiate career.

A former Lady Black Sox player, Cameron competed for three seasons at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Rhode Island before finishing her career at Babson College. At Babson, she earned Second Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region honors, was named Conference Pitcher of the Week three times, and posted a 1.04 ERA with two no-hitters and five shutouts.

At Queen Anne’s County High School, Cameron helped lead the program to its first state championship. As a senior, she went 12-0 with a 0.85 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 82 innings. She finished her high school career with 301 strikeouts.

Cameron brings championship experience, strong pitching knowledge, and a passion for developing the next generation of players.
